Download and Install the Ledger Live App

1. Visit the official Ledger website (ledger.com).

2. Go to the Ledger Live section.

5. Open the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions.

Set Up Your Ledger Hardware Wallet

1. Unbox your Ledger Nano S or Ledger Nano X.

2. Connect it to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

3. Follow the on‑device instructions to:

• Choose a PIN code

• Write down your 24‑word recovery phrase

• Confirm the phrase on the device

This 24‑word phrase is your ledger live backup. It’s the only way to recover your wallet if your device is ever lost, damaged, or reset.

Store it offline in a safe place. Never take photos of it and never type it into your computer or phone

First‑Time Ledger Live App Setup

1. Open the Ledger Live desktop app.

2. Choose whether you’re setting up a new device or connecting an existing one.

3. Follow the on‑screen instructions to verify your device and confirm security checks.

4. Set a local app password if you want extra protection on that computer.

From now on, every time you open the app you’ll be asked for this password before you can see your portfolio.

Complete Your First Ledger Live Login

Your daily Ledger Live Login on desktop will look like this:

1. Open the Ledger Live app.

2. Enter your app password (if you set one).

3. Connect your Ledger Hardware wallet via USB.

4. On the device, enter your PIN.

5. Once unlocked, Ledger Live will read your accounts and show your balances.

You’re now securely logged in. Your private keys remain inside your hardware wallet the whole time.

Add Your First Accounts

1. In the app, go to the Accounts tab.

2. Click Add account.

3. Choose the cryptocurrency you want to add.

4. When asked, open the matching app (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) on your Ledger device.

5. Ledger Live will scan the blockchain and then display your account(s).
